Weed Control — Bermuda Grass..grrr! viewed 158 times

I'm a MOSTLY organic gardener, who has a terrible Bermuda grass issue. Is there ANYTHING besides digging and pulling to get rid of it, that's considered organic? Pulling it,or TRYING to pull it, only makes it spread further underground, IMHO. And it just grows right through any mulch. I just planted an asparagus bed, and I don't want to use anything harmful near my food crops. But the Bermuda is already coming up in the bed. Any suggestions would be greatfully appreciated!

What they always say is Roundup (TM). Which isn't particularly organic, even less selective. I would think, if you are incredibly retentive, you could "paint" it onto the bermuda only blades. I just dug out a 2meter patch and overseeded, no spraying, other than a lot oof sweat spray on the ground. I wonder if you could burn it or "solarize" it. But Mr. Yost just laughed repeatedly at a fellow who asked that same question.

Chemicals!
