When is the best time to divide and re-plant liriope in northern Virginia?
I believe you can do it now. By dividing the liriope and transplanting it now in early fall, you are giving it enough time to get settled in its new location before the first frost. Be sure to give the newly divided plants plenty of water so their roots are established. You can't kill liriope. They're pretty tough. Good luck!
You can also do it now (spring) if it's early enough - while it's still cool. Again, water well after planting.
