Pests & Diseases — Gardinas Have Black Leaves viewed 236 times

My gardina's have black all over there leaves. I can scrape it off with my finger nails what is it? Is it a fungi or mold of some kind? Thanks

It's most likely sooty mold which is growing on the leaves because you have insects on the plant. The mold feeds on the excrement secreted by insects, probably mealy bugs or a close relative. You may want to begin by washing off your plants to reduce the amount of mold and insects on the plants. After washing, apply an insecticide appropriate for the type of insect you have present.

can you grow gardenias in zone 7?
